I put together a list of Blewt! accomplishment in 2007 to send around to the gang, and thought I'd post a modified version here on the good ol' Blewt! Blog. It really is exciting to look back on a year and tally up the things you've done. Hopefully you can withstand the horn tooting and give a little cheer.
- Blewt! became Blewt! Productions, LLC. We formed a tight group of talented people to act as our core production team.
- Don't Spit the Water hit the 3-year mark, and topped off the year with a 2-month run in Arlington Heights. We performed at Roosevelt University, and put together a nice looking 3-camera taping that we can now use for promoting the show. And a commercial! We have a commercial now!
- We taped and produced a pilot! We put on jean shorts, brightly colored shirts and hats, and The Silly Funny Goof Gang was born. A dance was choreographed, a theme song was produced, and a hilarious 5-minute video was shot and edited. People got GOOFED, y'all!
- We invented a show out of nothing, cast it, and produced TWO runs! Impress These Apes ran TWICE in 2007, to critical acclaim each time. It was listed on two "best comedy things about 2007" lists, and produced 128 hilarious online videos with thousands of combined views. Nina Metz raved about it in the Tribune, and even showed up at our finale!
- We made up a pretend movie, and solicited 200+ headshots/resumes. Ultimately, 5 of those people were pranked as they participated in the worst audition of their lives.
- Talkin' Funny put up its 4th season on CAN-TV, and featured another round of guests from the Chicago comedy community. It ended with Sasha and The Noob becoming trapped in the comic book dimension... how will this cliffhanger be resolved?
- One of our core members won the Chicago Comedy Award for Best Comedian, and won the Detroit Comedy Idol competition! Two of our core members were finalists in the Funniest Person in Chicago competition, and finished 2nd and 3rd! Another one of us was a judge!
- We released the Timekeeper Willis Boot Camp DVD!
- We released a brand new Blewt.Com, and the Blewt Toot line!
- One of our members became a papa! Another became a soon-to-be papa!
